I looked behind me, I looked before me, and never once have I seen so many good things all at once. How could I help being thankful for the whole of my life? That is why I am now going to tell myself the story of my life
hello again world,
haven't posted in a little while since starting the blog, and i must say that part of it is because i am so caught up in other people's academic blogs and feel like i have so much less to contribute to the academic-blogging community. and of course i would like this blog to be a little more than just about work, although my life and my work are bound up with each other in a way that makes it almost impossible to separate the two...but this is not a bad thing; my work is wonderful, it nourishes me, and gives me energy, my raison d'ĂȘtre and joie de vivre...it's hard for me, in many ways, to relate to those for whom work is "just a job" or those who leave their work "at the office"-i couldn't imagine what that would be like. as much as i have projects hanging over my head pretty much all the time--deadlines, tons of reading, writing, publishing, revising, etc.--it's still a joy and a delight to try, at least, to live the "life of the mind" and pursue my dream of one day not only finishing the degree but having an academic job, too.
well, there you have it, that's me: my work, some hobbies (piano playing, knitting, yoga, excessive amounts of film watching-i'm a dedicated cinephile).
that's if for now folks...reading for seminar and revising a paper for publication...
